Why We Need You
By adopting a room, you’re keeping the families of ill and injured children close to the medical care they need, the comforts of home they crave, and the family members they could not go through their healthcare journey without.
Families stay anywhere from one night to several months, with our average length of stay being 12 nights. Our overnight services at the Ronald McDonald House are valued at $223 per night.
One visit to one of our Ronald McDonald Family Rooms is valued at $23. Many of the families who stay at the House also utilize the Family Rooms each day. All of these services are available to families at no cost to them.
Supporting our Adopt a Room program with an annual gift helps bridge this funding gap and, above all, makes sure our doors are always open to families in need.
Each of the adopted rooms and spaces has a designated plaque with the name of the group, company, or individual who has provided this annual gift.
For more information about the Adopt a Room program, click here to download our invitation. For additional help or to specify the space you’d like to adopt, contact Donor Relations and Events Manager Erika Ward by email or by calling 937-224-0047 extension 20.

Consider a Gift of Honor
Room sponsorship is a thoughtful way to recognize friends, family, or business associates on birthdays, anniversaries, or other special occasions. It is also a meaningful way to pay loving tribute to a deceased relative or friend.
Adelyn’s Story
Adelyn Drake was born with several congenital medical issues including tetralogy of fallot, partial anomalous pulmonary venous return, malformation of the intestine and tracheomalacia. Her family stayed at RMHC Dayton during her NICU stay at Dayton Children’s Hospital.
After her passing at seven months old, her family established a yearly 5K in her memory. Proceeds from that third-party fundraiser go directly to the Adopt a Room program at RMHC Dayton.
“It’s our purpose to find some way to put the energy we’re dealing with after Adelyn’s passing back into the Ronald McDonald House,” said James Drake, Adelyn’s dad.
