Kids holding buckets of pull tabs to dump in the large collection

The 11th annual Tab-a-PULL-ooza is the prime example of what happens when a community “pulls” together for a greater cause! Schools, groups, and individuals from the Miami Valley region and beyond hauled in nearly 5,800 pounds of pull tabs. That’s 200 pounds more than last year worth nearly $2,400. To put it in perspective, the salvage value of those pull tabs could cover the cost of detergent for over 1,000 loads of laundry for families at the House and Family Room.

RMHC gives a shout out to USI Insurance for volunteering their time to weigh the community’s collection as well as to First Street Recycling for donating their recycling services to this program.

If you forgot to drop by, you can always donate your tabs to the House at 555 Valley Street, or save them for the 12th Annual Tab-a-PULL-ooza on May 19, 2018. Let’s all meet again next year and “pull together” for families with sick or injured children in the hospital.

Each year, the community raises nearly $16,000 in pull tab donations alone. That’s a lot of tabs! Remember, small and large pull tab houses for your collection are available for purchase at the House. Start your collections NOW!

Big Mac Special Sauce bottleWe all know the jingle. This special sauce will go GREAT on all your favorites, but it’s best served with two all-beef patties, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun! McDonald’s has released only 10,000 bottles of Big Mac Special Sauce to the public, and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Dayton, OH is auctioning off ONE of the LAST BOTTLES in the area.

Your bid for this bottle will go towards supporting families who stay at the Ronald McDonald House of Dayton to be close to their critically ill or injured babies and children as they seek treatment at the hospital. The highest bid will win this exclusive bottle of Big Mac Special Sauce along with a Ronald McDonald House Charities basket containing fun striped Ronald McDonald socks, an RMHC thermal bag, an “RMHC Strong” mug, RMHC tumbler and more.

Thank you to our friends Al Herzog and Debbie Wright, two McDonald’s Owner/Operators from our mission partners, the McDonald’s of the Miami Valley Co-Op, for setting aside and donating one bottle so we can raise funds to keep families close to their hospitalized children.

Unopened, refrigerated, 11.4 oz, pick up at RMHC Dayton or drop off anywhere in the Miami Valley, OH region

*Tax-Deductible 15% Service Gratuity Donation applies to all items and will be added to all
winning bids. This is to cover the minimal fee Ronald McDonald House Charities of Dayton pays for this auction service, and maximizes the amount of donations this auction will raise in benefit of RMHC Dayton.

Day of Change #forRMHC photo, red and white stripes with blue circle and RMHC logo

You know that loose change on the floor in the car? In the bottom of your purse? In a jar on your desk? On October 15th, Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) is asking families to donate that extra change to help keep millions of children together with their families.

This special day marks the opening of the very first Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia in 1974. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Dayton invites individuals, businesses, and community groups to support families with critically-ill children by visiting their local McDonald’s on October 15 to drop spare change into an RMHC Donation Box.

To celebrate Day of Change with our generous community, RMHC Dayton staff and volunteers are heading to 3 select locations in the region for a special in-store celebration:

  • McDonald’s at 3157 Dayton Xenia in Beavercreek
  • McDonald’s at 530 E. National Rd. in Vandalia
  • McDonald’s at 6270 Far Hills Ave. in Centerville

McDonald’s customers who participate in Day of Change are encouraged to share photos and how they helped to support RMHC on social media using #DayOfChange and #forRMHC.

If you are not able to make it to a McDonald’s on Day of Change, consider making an online donation at or collect change at your office, school or organization. Physical donations can be turned in at or mailed to the Ronald McDonald House at 555 Valley Street, Dayton, OH 45404.

Little by little, small donations add up to a lot allowing the Charity to serve more than 4 million families a year worldwide. The RMHC Day of Change presents an opportunity to teach and get children involved in giving back, and an easy, and fun way for families to donate.
