Because families are stronger together
The Ronald McDonald House is built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal, or where they will lay their head at night to rest.
With the recent growth in pediatric healthcare specialties in our region, RMHC Dayton has seen a significant increase in demand for housing. On average, the Ronald McDonald House turns away more than 50% of the families who request a stay in one of 14 guest rooms and in 2021 turned away 63% (538 families) due to a lack of availability.
Growing to keep more families close
In order to meet the increased need, RMHC Dayton is constructing a new 40,000 sq. ft. Ronald McDonald House consisting of three finished floors, a partial basement, ample communal space, and inviting outdoor recreation and respite space.
Upon completion, the House will have 42 guest rooms, enabling us to accommodate all families in need of safe, comfortable, and affordable accommodations.
Nurturing the health and well-being of children and their families
The new Ronald McDonald House will enable holistic, wraparound services that support family-centered care and help improve health outcomes for pediatric patients.
