Rest and Regroup Without Leaving the Hospital
Ronald McDonald Family Rooms are designed to provide a place to rest and regroup without leaving the hospital. The goal is to allow caregivers to quickly take care of their needs so they can focus all of their energy and attention back where it belongs: on their children.
The Ronald McDonald Family Room (RMFR) at Dayton Children’s Hospital is one of the largest square footage-wise among the more than 260 RMFRs in the global RMHC network.
The grand opening for the RMFR at DCH was held on Feb. 1, 2016, right outside of the PICU. The grand opening anniversary coincides with RMHC Dayton’s anniversary.
In 2018, the RMFR at DCH was moved to its new space on the Fourth Floor.
Its amenities include light meals, private showers, laundry, a private respite room, nap pods, computer work stations and a charging station, among others. It’s open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends. It’s located on the Fourth Floor, accessible by the Yellow Elevators. Weather permitting, you may also access the Family Room from the Fourth Floor Tower Sky Deck.

Adopt a Room at the RMFR at DCH
One visit to the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Dayton Children’s Hospital is valued at $23. Donor support through our Adopt a Room program allows us to provide respite for families at no-cost to them.
When you sign up for this annual commitment, a plaque recognizing your support will be placed outside of the room you’ve adopted. You’ll also receive family impact stories and reports showing how many families have utilized the space throughout the year.
For more information about the Adopt a Room program, click here to download our invitation. For additional help or to specify the space you’d like to adopt, contact Donor Relations and Events Manager Erika Ward by email or by calling 937-224-0047 extension 20.
