These words ring true for most of our guests. In times of medical crisis, it is traditional for families and friends to prepare meals for loved ones. At RMHC Dayton, our families spend long days and nights at the hospital with their child. When they come back to their “home-away-from-home,” a hot nutritious meal gives these exhausted and overwhelmed families the chance to relax and connect with others before the next day starts.
Things to Consider
Meal opportunities are available 7-Days a week/ 365-days a year. Meals can be scheduled on a monthly, quarterly, or one-time basis. Participants plan the menu and supply the food, paper products, and plastic utensils. Breakfast is served Saturday and Sunday at 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM. Dinner is served 7 days a week between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Please prepare enough food for 25 and 40 people. Dinner preparation must be done on-site; unless it is prepared in a commercial kitchen and brought in. Our kitchen is equipped with all reasonable cooking necessities. A Barbecue Grill is available.
Meals for Our Family Rooms
We are also in need of prepared meals for our Ronald McDonald Family Rooms® (RMFR), which offer amenities of the House inside the hospital for families’ just steps away from their child’s bedside. Families have access to meals, shower facilities, and laundry facilities at no cost to the families. Warm meals are so appreciated by families. RMFR meals need to be frozen to be reheated either in a crock pot or in the oven. Please supply either resealable gallon sized Ziploc bags or half sized aluminum pans.

A Guest Service Manager will be available to answer any questions, assist with your groups needs, and provide a tour of the House.
