May 18, 2023 – DAYTON, Ohio: Ronald McDonald House Charities Dayton is celebrating 17 years of Tab-A-PULL-Ooza. This year’s event will take place on Sunday, May 21st at the Second Street Market, 600 East Second Street in downtown Dayton from 11AM-3PM. Pull tabs can be collected from a variety of canned items, including beverages, soups, and pet food. A team of volunteers from Amazon, The Marines, and UBS Financial Services will be at the event to help RMHC Dayton accept pull-tab collections large and small. Donations will be weighed and poured into a large, commercial dumpster provided by First Street Recycling; allowing attendees to see firsthand the remarkable things that can happen when a community “pulls” together. A raffle for a Radio flyer red wagon full of family games and goodies will also be included in the day.

Prizes will be awarded to the top collectors in four categories: individual, community, business, and school. Pull-tabs collected at this event will go to First Street Recycling to be recycled for their salvage value. Last year we collected 6,523 pounds of pull tabs and brought in $3,588. The revenue generated from these pull tabs, along with pull tabs collected at the House throughout the year help us with facilities costs, stock our pantries, and even support the construction of the new Ronald McDonald House.

The communities support of this event year-after-year helps us continue our mission of keeping families close to each other so they can focus on what matters most, their child. For over 40 years, RMHC Dayton has provided community, comfort and hope to families with seriously ill or injured children. Let’s pull together to make a difference. About RMHC Dayton

RMHC Dayton is a recognized 501 (c)(3) nonprofit that serves families of children with complex and life-changing medical diagnoses and injuries. We are committed to keeping families close to the medical care they need, the comforts of home they crave, and the family members they could not go through their healthcare journey without. The Ronald McDonald House on Valley Street provides a home away from home with 14 private guest rooms at no cost to guests. We provide home-cooked meals, on-site laundry, family programming and play spaces, among other amenities. The Ronald McDonald Family Rooms at Dayton Children’s Hospital and inside Emmett’s Place at Miami Valley Hospital provide a space for families to rest and regroup without leaving the hospital. These programs are critical to our mission of providing community, comfort, and hope to families of seriously ill children so that they can focus on what matters most: their children.
