Brooklyn is a 12-year-old burn survivor with 12 stays at The Ronald McDonald House in Dayton. At age two, she was burned over 67% of her body and has had over 100 surgeries.
Her stays at the House have varied in length, but she and her grandmother have stayed at the Dayton House for 46 nights in total. Brooklyn’s Grandmother, Lordes, shared with us, “The House is more than just the sheets and the bed. It’s the nourishing care and support we receive each visit.”
“The House feels like home. It’s a gift because of the calm, peaceful, and serene feeling it provides. We feel safe here because the team is always so attentive to our needs. RMHC Dayton is a second home to us. It feels like we’ve just visited our family again,” says Lordes.
